TGK Story

1983
Establishment of a retail shop in Bielefeld, Arndtstrasse.
First small mail-order catalog for hobby crafters appears.
 
1985
Participation in the Nuremburg Toy Fair.
 
1985
7/1/1985: Move to a larger facility
 
1986
Participation in the international "Glastec" Trade Show in Duesseldorf.
 
1987
Stained glass included in wholesale program.
TGK offers nationwide delivery service with own truck.
 
1987
7/1/1987: "Tiffany Glasstudio" becomes "Tiffany Glaskunst GmbH".
 
1989
Participation in the "VITRUM" Trade Show in Milan.
 
1990
Completion of the new TGK facility in Schloss Holte
 
1991
The first TGK Open House. In addition to a wide product palette, a diversified seminar program is offered. Among the subjects: fusing, Pate de verre, "Glas+", sandblasting, glass painting, glass blowing, glass lamination, beadmaking and glass adhesives.
 

 
1993
Initiation of the cooperation with the "3rd World House" in Bielefeld.
 
1994
TGK has exclusive distribution rights for VEGA kilns in Germany and BENELUX. In the same year similar rights for the American Evenheat Kiln program.
 
1995
TGK holds the 5th Open House. More room is needed, and a second floor is added to the warehouse. TGK GmbH gets exclusive European distribution rights for NIKKEN glass cutters.
 
1996
Establishment of TGK in the Czech Republic. TGK introduces the "window clip".
 
1997
TGK presence in the internet.
Towards the end of the year the facility is expanded by 1000 sq.m.
Total space now for warehouse and offices: 2000 sq.m.
 
1999
TGK develops ideas for basically new forms of glass working.
Development of the GT 4050, a small kiln.
TGK presents the "GLAS+" program.
 
2000
TGK begins distribution of laser-worked glass.
 
April 2000
Cooperation with Schott-Desag.
 
2003
TGK has its 20th Anniversary - 20 years of ideas with the theme glass.
 
2004
TGK expands its product line with antireflection coated glass (museum glass, showcases, pictures coated for antireflection). TGK has its first international exhibition with the theme "Glass has Many Faces", which opened with 200 participants at the TGK glass fair. Presentation of Photovoltaik in glass design. Inclusion of LED components in the product line. Introduction of new lighting objects.
 
2005
"Living with Glass" was the topic of the last TGK glass fair. The nearly boundless possibilities of glass design in different living spaces were presented to visitors. On September 17th construction of the new storage facility with an effective area of 1427 square meters began. In October 2005 TGK joined in a co-operation with the company Bohle AG, and adopts Bohle?s entire glass range. After 3 1/2 months the completion of the new storage facility takes place on December 28th, 2005.

2006
On January 20, 2006 TGK?s new storage facility is inaugurated. On 4000 square meters visitors find one of the most extensive offers for creative glass design world-wide.10 colored glass manufacturers with a color spectrum of approximately 2300 colors and a constant stock of 40.000 square meters is at your disposal at TGK.
