1982
First work with glass. Founder of Tiffany Glaskunst: Marita Witte, Friedrich Frisch and Wilhelm Gunkel
1983
The three give courses in the Tiffany technique. In total, the glass team trained around 1000 people in and around Bielefeld. Opening of the retail business in Bielefeld, Arndtstraße The first mail order catalogue was created.
1985
Participation at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. In April of the same year, a price list is published for the reseller. Move to a larger shop. Tiffany Glaskunst opens a shop on the edge of Bielefeld's old town with 80 square metres of floor space.
1987
. . . the coloured glass is also included in the wholesale program. TGK offers a nationwide delivery service with its own truck. The first permanent employee is hired. The one-man business Friedrich Frisch, Tiffany Glasstudio, becomes TIFFANY GLASKUNST GMBH
1989
Exhibition at the Milan glass fair "VITRUM". Contacts to the door industry are established. In the following years, this sales sector is expanded.
1990
For us, the possibilities in Bielefeld were completely exhausted. TGK's new business premises were built in Schloss Holte. Our products could now be presented to the customers on an area of 1000 sqm.
1991
The first in-house exhibition at TGK took place and the extensive range of our products was presented to the customer. Not only materials and tools, but also ideas are an important part of the TGK in-house exhibitions.
In order to show customers how diverse the field of glass design is, the TGK range was extended by a broad seminar programme. The seminars cover Fusing (glass fusion), Pate de Verre, Glas+, sandblasting, glass painting, glass blowing, glass laminate, design, glass beads and glass bonding.
1993
the cooperation with the 3rd World House in Bielefeld begins. The obligatory Christmas presents will be replaced by the support of a school project in Mozambique.
1994
TGK receives the exclusive representation of an Italian producer of glass melting furnaces. In the same year also for the American Evenheat oven Evenheat-Ofen series.
1995
The fifth in-house exhibition takes place. The field of glass fusion is generally seen as the glass processing of the future. The increased space requirement is compensated by the installation of an intermediate platform. TGK GmbH receives the exclusive distribution for NIKKEN glass cutters in Europe.
1996
Foundation of TGK in the Czech Republic.
TGK launches the window clip.
1997
TGK presents itself on the Internet.
Development work for doors and tiles.
Towards the end of the year, the business premises were expanded by 1000 sqm. Thus the storage and office space increases to approx. 2000 sqm.
TGK registers and protects the name ProVetro as a trademark.
1999
GT 4050, a small melting furnace especially for the production of consumer goods such as lamps, clocks, house numbers, tiles, etc. TGK enters the traditional glass market more strongly with the introduction of cast resin for the production of laminated glass. Not only the safety aspect is of interest, but also the design aspect.
2000
The 10th in-house exhibition is all about GLAS+. By the time of the in-house exhibition, 99 ovens had been sold.
Rental of an external warehouse. TGK takes over the distribution of lasered glass February 2002 TGK at the ZOW in Bad Salzuflen, first contacts to the furniture industry.
Cooperation agreement with Schott-Desag. TGK becomes the official service centre for Schott-Desag coloured glass. In August 2002, a warehouse for large glass, especially for Schott-Desag and Madras, will be set up in Hall 3.
2003
Anniversary! 20 years TGK - 20 years of ideas about glass.
2005
„Living with glass“ was the theme of the last TGK Glass Fair. In various living rooms the almost limitless possibilities of design with glass were presented to the visitor.
On 17 September construction of the new hall with a floor space of 1427 sqm begins.
In October 2005 TGK enters into a cooperation with Bohle AG and takes over the entire glass division of Bohle. After 3 1/2 months the new warehouse will be handed over on 28 December 2005.
2006
On 20.01.2006 the new TGK hall will be inaugurated. On 4000 square meters the visitor finds one of the most extensive offers for creative glass design, worldwide. 10 color glass huts with a color fan of approx. 2300 colors and a permanent stock of 40,000 square meters are available to you at TGK.
2016
The company name officially changed from Tiffany Glaskunst GmbH to TGK GmbH.
TGK acquires the digital printing of Colora-Druck GmbH and specializes in UV direct printing on glass.
2021
The shareholders' meeting of TGK GmbH has appointed Kolja Frisch as the 3rd managing director of TGK from July 1, 2021.
