The smooth inside of this mold gives you a very smooth glass surface that hardly needs to be cold worked. The amount of glass can be varied to change the size of the final object. For a full pyramid you need approx. 2 kg glass. Use billets for high clarity, but there are also nice effects with flat glass, frits or rods. The finished object will be slightly smaller depending on the amount of glass used. Cold working of the edges with a diamond pad may be required. If you lower the temperature to a sintering fire (approx. 720°C), the piece shrinks less and has a rougher, sugary appearance that is similar to that of Pâte-de-Verre. Tolerances of ceramic molds are production-related.
